Junior Katie Kleine (Cazenovia, N.Y./Cazenovia) was named the SUNYAC Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week on Monday. Kleine had a big hand in the Devils' season-opening 10-game win streak.

Fredonia State is No. 20 in the NCAA Division III Week 7 rankings released this morning. It's the first time the Blue Devils have ever cracked the Top 20 after receiving votes in the Week 5 and Week 6 rankings this year and in three weekly polls and the final poll last year. Fredonia State has sponsored women's varsity lacrosse since 1996.

The poll is conducted by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association.

The Blue Devils are 10-0 overall and 2-0 in the SUNYAC heading into their 4 p.m. match this afternoon vs. Geneseo at University Stadium.

Geneseo also received votes in this week's IWLCA poll. The Blue Knights were ranked No. 19 last week.

The surging women’s lacrosse team will put its undefeated season record on the line at home against Geneseo on Tuesday, April 9, at 4 p.m. The Lady Blue Devils made it 10 out of 10 with a 12-5 win over Wittenberg last Sunday. Marissa Cussins and Katie Kleine led the charge with three goals and one assist each; goalkeeper Casey Chiesa recorded 11 saves. Another home match, against Buffalo State, is set for Tuesday, April 16.
