Eduardo Corral, an award-winning American poet and teacher, will visit SUNY Fredonia as part of the Mary Louise White Visiting Writers Series on Thursday, April 4. The series is sponsored by the English Department.

The author of “Slow Lightning,” which won the prestigious Yale Younger Series Poets Prize, will conduct a craft talk at 4 p.m. and a reading at 7 p.m.

Considerable opportunity for interaction with the author will be offered at the craft talk. Books, which the author will sign, will be available for sale at the reading.

Both events will be held at 202 McEwen and are free and open to the public. Corral studied Chicano studies at Arizona State University and received a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Iowa Writers’ Workshop. He is the first Latino poet to win the Yale Younger Series Poets prize.
