Lotte Morse illustrates children's book

Illustrated by Charlotte R. Morse (right), graphic designer for Academic Information Technology, the children's book, Does a Pigeon Bark? was written by Philip S. Morse (education, emeritus) of Pittsboro, N.C., and published by Anteater Books, Inc. in October.  

The book highlights 212 easy, enjoyable, and educationally sound ways to delight children and at the same time stimulate them in many areas of normal, healthy growth. All the activities are simple, practical, and low-cost or no-cost. They tie into a child’s natural curiosity and joy of learning, and are appropriate up to and beyond the time when children first begin formal schooling.

Carefully chosen for developmental appropriateness and drawing on readily available materials and resources, the activities can be used with individual children or with groups in educational or child care settings, or at home.”
