The Masterworks Chorale of the Fredonia School of Music continues its annual tradition of performing an end of school year oratorio. The event will be held Sunday, April 29, at 4 p.m. in King Concert Hall. This year's featured work is the magnificent MASS in B MINOR by J.S. Bach.

The previous day, the performers will present the same concert in Buffalo at 8 p.m. at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1080 Main Street, Buffalo. Tickets for that event are general admission $10 and may be purchased at the door.

Tickets for the Sunday performance on campus may be purchased by calling the Central Box Office at 716-673-3501. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for senior citizens, $6 for all students, except SUNY Fredonia students, who will be admitted free.

The Masterworks Chorale is comprised of 73 student singers who are selected especially to perform for the event. The performance will also highlight guest vocal soloists, all SUNY Fredonia faculty members. Soloists are Soprano Angela Dilkey, Mezzo Sopranos Quinn Patrick and Melissa Thorburn, Tenor JoeDan Harper, and basses Daniel Ihasz and Won Cho.

The Western New York Chamber Orchestra, a professional ensemble-in-residence at SUNY Fredonia, will continue its long collaboration with the School of Music by performing in this special event.

The Orchestra, under the direction of Glen Cortese, is celebrating its 25th anniversary season.
