Natalie Gerber, associate professor of English SUNY Fredonia, organized and led a three-day critical seminar entitled, "The Free-Verse Spectrum," at the 2012 West Chester University Poetry Conference, in which invited scholars discussed the multiple points of origin, taxonomies, and ideologies of 20th and 21st century free verse poets. The WCUP conference brings scholars and poets together to discuss poetic form, versification, and original poetry.

In addition, she was one of eight distinguished poets and critics featured in the Third Annual Symposium on Poetry Criticism at Western State College of Colorado. The symposium was part of the multi-discipline conference known as Writing the Rockies, held in conjunction with the college’s low-residency M.F.A. in Creative Writing.
