“The Memoirs of Antoine Kope,” a documentary film project now under development by SUNY Fredonia film professor Nefin Dinc, received the Binger Lab Award at the Istanbul Film Festival.

The film will be based on the memoirs of an Austro-Hungarian foot soldier stationed in Istanbul during World War I and was one of 12 projects – selected from among 159 applications – to be presented during a two-day workshop before an international jury at the festival held April 5-12. The film will be released during the centennial of the “Great War.”
