The Chautauqua County Rural Ministry (CCRM) Nominating Committee has selected Dr. Richard Goodman as the recipient of the 2008 Prophet’s Hoe Award. Dr. Goodman is currently serving as the Campus Liaison for the SUNY Fredonia/Dunkirk Community Outreach Partnerships Center (COPC) and he is a Research Associate for the Center for Rural Regional Development and Government Center (CRRDG).

The Prophet’s Hoe, an annual social justice award for “faithful and devoted service to the Rural Ministry and to the community”, is presented to a person who exhibits prophet-like courage in the pursuit of justice for all disadvantaged people. The award, which is CCRM’s most prestigious honor, has been given out annually by the Rural Ministry since 1978. The Prophet Hoe will be formally presented to Dr. Goodman on January 28th at the CCRM Annual Dinner.
