Social work's accreditation is renewed

Christine Davis Mantai

The Council on Social Work Education has reaffirmed its accreditation of the SUNY Fredonia bachelor’s degree program in social work. Less than 10-years old, the social work program at Fredonia has been accredited nationally since 2003.

CSWE is the only body in the nation that accredits social work education, It applies rigorous standards to make sure that students are adequately prepared for professional practice. Because of the accreditation, graduates of the SUNY Fredonia program are eligible for membership in the National Association of Social Workers and their chances of being licensed and hired are elevated.
