Stroke and head injury survivor meetings set

Christine Davis Mantai

stroke imageThe Youngerman Center for Communication Disorders at SUNY Fredonia will be offering two support group meetings this summer for stroke and head injury survivors and family members. The group will meet Tuesday, June 17, and Tuesday, July 15, at 3 p.m. in room W 127 Thompson Hall.

A typical group meeting will include activities to help stroke survivors use compensatory strategies to improve communication skills, provide educational information, and an opportunity to socialize and share experiences. Light refreshments will be provided.

The Youngerman Center recognizes that there are individuals in the community whose insurance benefit for therapy has been exhausted but their hopes for improvement have not. Please contact Julie Williams, Coordinator 716-673-4618 for more information about attending the group.
