SUNY Fredonia recognizes five with 2012 Outstanding Administrative Service Award

Administrative Division honorees

SUNY Fredonia recently honored its 2012 Outstanding Administrative Service awardees: seated, from left, Larry Pelz and Cindy Hasse, and standing, from left, Ron Mirek, Gladys Lockett and Lynn Bowers.

Five SUNY Fredonia employees, whose collective service spans more than 48 years and all five major departments within the Administrative division, have received Outstanding Administrative Service Awards in recognition of exemplary service during 2012.

Award recipients and their respective positions include:

Lynn Bowers, Professional Staff; Director of Student Accounts. A resident of Dunkirk, Ms. Bowers began at SUNY Fredonia in April 2000 as the Director of Student Accounts.

Cindy Haase, Secretarial/Clerical, Agency Program Aide in the Accounting department. A resident of Stockton, Ms. Haase joined SUNY Fredonia as a Clerk 1 in March 2005.

Gladys Lockett, Custodial Services, Cleaner in Eisenhower Hall. A resident of Dunkirk, Ms. Lockett has served as a Cleaner at SUNY Fredonia since May 1998.

Ron Mirek, FSA Operational, Central Prep/Commissary. A resident of Dunkirk, Mr. Mirek has worked in Central Prep since March 2003.

Larry Pelz, Professional Trades; Plant Utilities Engineer 1 in Facilities Services/HVAC. A Silver Creek resident, Mr. Pelz joined SUNY Fredonia in May 2006 as a Plant Utilities Assistant 1.

The strength of SUNY Fredonia and the Administrative division continues to be hard-working, dedicated employees that perform a wide range of services throughout the campus. A luncheon to honor these individuals was held on Sept. 13.

For the last 10 years, the Administrative division has recognized individuals from within that division who have demonstrated a solid team effort in their everyday actions, an outstanding Fredonia service attitude, creativity and resourcefulness in improving services, and a positive attitude in working with students, faculty and staff.
