Timothy Frerichs, Associate Professor of Art, is the sole U.S. artist whose work was commissioned for a fold book (Das Nachtbuch) featuring art by international artists on the theme of night. Each artist was invited to submit three pages for the book.

The book exhibit opens Dec. 13 in Berlin, Germany, and runs until March 1, before moving to other venues in Europe.

Frerichs recently exhibited a solo Installation work in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Entitled (T)here, the work was displayed in a public art space at the Weesperplein Metro Station in Amsterdam (visit his blog for images and details>>). The 8 foot by 40 foot sculptural piece was a site-specific work based on native Netherland Flora and a site-specific walk. The exhibit closed Nov. 4 and was  made possibly through funding by the Netherland-American Foundation Cultural Grant, The United States Embassies, The Hague, Project Grant, and a Strategic Opportunity Stipend from the New York Foundation for the Arts.

Frerichs coordinates the foundations area curriculum in the department of visual arts and new media, and also teaches printmaking.
