Two articles by Karry A. Kazial, biology professor, are in press. Both papers have SUNY Fredonia student coauthors.

The journal, Ethology, is publishing "Little brown bats (Myotis lucifugus) recognize individual identity of conspecifics using sonar calls," written and researched by Dr. Kazial, Kenny, T.L. (Tammy Kenny, who was a graduate student in biology during the time she participated in the research), & Burnett, S.C. 2008.

The Journal of Mammalogy is publishing the article, "Information content of sonar calls of little brown bats," authored by Dr. Kazial, Pacheco, S. & Zielinski, K.N.

Where are they now?

Co-author on the first paper, Tammy L. Kenny, formerly a biology graduate student at Fredonia, is currently an instructor at Southern Vermont College in the John Merck Division of Science and Technology, where she teaches anatomy and physiology.

Co-authors on the second paper, Sarah Pacheco and Kristen Zielinski, worked on the research as undergraduates. Both are pursuing employment and further education.
