Two sophomores, Arron Carlson (LeRoy, N.Y./Notre Dame) and Jeff Matter (East Aurora, N.Y.\/East Aurora) were named Honorable Mention All-American on March 19 at the NCAA Division III Championships in the 1-meter springboard diving event. Carlson finished tied for ninth with a score of 448.7 while Matter finished in 16th with a score of 400.1.
Carlson earned the honor for the second year in a row. He finished four spots higher than his 13th-place finish in the same competition last year.
Matter was making his first NCAA Championship appearance. Both divers will return to the board on March 21 for the men's 3-meter springboard diving event.
