Unique courses offered this summer on campus

SUNY Fredonia has expanded its Summer Sessions to include unique courses that will keep students engaged over the long summer. Courses include History Through Film, Fitness and Nutrition and Event Management.

In History Through Film, students explore world history through the interpretation of movies created during different eras. This will promote a new understanding of culture from examples made by people that actually grew up in the society.

Students learn development knowledge and skills necessary to become personally responsible in Fitness and Nutrition. Contents will be used as a basis for assessment of personal fitness and nutritional status and necessary personal behavior modification. Investigation of basic fitness and nutritional facts, energy balance, obesity, dieting, nutrition as related to disease, for personal goal setting.

In Event Management, students will gain in-depth knowledge and actual experience in all of the fundamentals of video production on the PC and Mac platforms. The area covers breakdown of game strategy, situations, adding sound and music, and creating streaming videos for web pages and student athlete recruiting.

Overall, courses are offered in a wide range of subjects, including accounting, studio art, anthropology, business, biology, finance, marketing, public speaking, social media, web programming, computer science, statistics, criminal justice, education, literature, poetry, writing, first aid, climate, history, mathematics, music, philosophy, physics, political science, sociology, foreign language, sport management and theatre.

Tuition (including fees) is typically $263.60 per credit hour at the undergraduate level for New York State residents and $405.60 at the graduate level for New York State residents. Financial aid is available. Housing is also available on campus in addition to many of the services students typically enjoy during the academic year.
