Women swimmers receive academic honor

The Fredonia women's swimming and diving team recently received Scholar All-America designation from the College Swimming Coaches Association of America.

The Blue Devils attained a 3.33 cumulative grade point average during the 2014-15 academic year. That score placed them in the top half of all NCAA Division III teams cited by the CSCAA. In addition, Fredonia had the second highest team GPA among SUNYAC schools.

Relay sets school mark

The 4 x 100 relay team of Cameron Sample, Jordan Lockett, Jacob Winn, and Nick Marsowicz set a new Fredonia State outdoor record, finishing the race in 42.19 seconds. It was a regional-qualifying time, and .17 seconds behind the first-place Cortland team.

Pellechia earns fourth SUNYAC title

For the fourth time in four tries, pole vaulter Cara Pellechia can call herself a SUNYAC Champion. Pellechia cleared 3.50m to take the outdoor title at the SUNYAC Meet on Friday.
