Women's Lacrosse to play in NCAA tourney with home game Saturday

Fredonia has been selected to play in the NCAA women's lacrosse tournament for the second time. The Blue Devils (11-6) will play host to Liberty League champ Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute at 3 p.m. on Saturday at University Stadium. The Blue Devils made the tournament as an at-large team, just as they did in 2012, when they played host to St. John Fisher.

Ticket prices are Adults $5/Students $2. The first 150 Fredonia students will receive a free ticket, courtesy of the Blue Devil Booster Club. Tickets will go on sale at 2 p.m. Saturday at University Stadium (turf field).

The Fredonia State baseball team extended its win streak to four games with 10-4 and 5-4 wins over visiting Hilbert College on Monday. Christian Pagano connected for a two-run homerun in Game 1, his third in as many games. Alex Gannon added a two-run blast of his own in the opener.

Day 2 results at Cortland

The 4x100 relay team took third place, and turned in a AARTFC qualifying time on the second day of the Cortland Classic on Saturday. Jacob Winn -- a member of the relay team -- also turned in a third place in the finals of the 100m dash.
