SUNY Fredonia Computer professor Ziya Arnavut was one of two guest editors of a special issue on image processing published in September by Elsevier’s International Journal of Computers & Electrical Engineering. The issue contained 16 articles that focused on new efforts and results in addressing image and video processing issues. A total of 60 articles were submitted for consideration. Dr. Arnavut, a member of the IEEE Computer Society, has research interests in data compression, algorithms, image processing and remote sensing.

Strauss to conduct area concerts

Dr. Robert Strauss will conduct the Buffalo Gay Men’s Chorus in “ WALK TOGETHER,” a concert to be performed at three sites in May and featuring “Tyler’s Suite,” a nine-song cycle about the life and death of Tyler Clementi, as well as songs from, or about, Buffalo, NY.
