Spring Orientation

Spring New Student Orientation is on Tuesday, January 22, 2019

The Spring 2019 New Student Orientation and Registration program takes place on Tuesday, January 22 from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 pm.  (Check-in begins at 9:00 a.m.)

There will be a one-time, non-refundable fee for the services and materials of this program.  This fee will be directly added to the semester bill.  All new incoming undergraduate first-year and transfer students must attend the program. Please confirm your attendance by registering online by January 18, 2019. Workshops for parents/guests are available as well.

REGISTER

A full schedule of orientation events will be sent via email to all registered students starting January 3, 2019.  This confirmation will include information about:

  • Arriving and parking on campus
  • Moving into a residence hall
  • How to obtain a Fredonia ID
  • Orientation and advising program details

Here is a short list of items necessary to your success at Fredonia.  Please complete them before attending orientation.

  1. Pay your deposit 
    This will hold your academic slot and unlock access to certain items.
  2. Complete the Course Interest Survey
    This helps us pre-build your course schedule.
  3. Complete the Housing Application
    Required if you plan on living on campus.
  4. Complete your Health History information
    Mandatory for all students to register for courses and attend classes.
  5. Review and accept your Financial Aid in "Your Connection"
    This video will walk you through the steps.
  6. Log into your FREDmail
    This is your Fredonia specific email account.  We will send you semester bills and key information via this email.
  7. Confirm your meal plan and register for a FREDDebit account
    All students living on campus (with a few exceptions) are required to have some type of meal plan.  You can register and confirm yours before you even arrive to campus by going online and logging into the myFSA link using your e-services log in (the one you use to access your email.)  You can also register for a FREDDebit account if you would like.

    Spring 2019 New Student Orientation Schedule Summary

    • 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.  Check-In and Continental Breakfast 
    • 10:00 a.m. -11:30 a.m. Welcome and Workshops (information regarding campus policies; instructions about meal plans, purchasing textbooks, completing financial aid or bill requirements)
    • 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.  Lunch and Campus Resource Fair (opportunity to meet campus departments, process parking passes, turn in immunization records)
    • 12:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m.  Academic Workshops and Course Registration Lab Rotations (course registration sessions are for students only)
    • 1:30 p.m- 2:30 p.m.  Parent/Family Panel Presentation  (Q&A session with campus leaders)
    • 1:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m.  Financial Aid Walk-In Hours (2nd Floor, Maytum Hall)
    • 1:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m.  FREDCard ID Processing (1st Floor, Gregory Hall)
    • 3:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m.  Campus Tours (starting from the Williams Center)

    New students attending the Spring Orientation program may move on campus at one of the following dates and times:

    • Sunday, January 20 between 9:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m.
    • Monday, January 21 between 9:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m.

    Welcome to the Big Blue Family!  We have several activities planned from the time you arrive on campus through the first week of classes.
