Our Purpose
Environmental Health & Safety & Sustainability (EH&S&S) is responsible for providing campus wide compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, safety, and fire regulations. In addition to providing compliance, we are responsible for the design and implementation of programs that enhance faculty, students, and staff with the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to have a safe and enjoyable experience both on and off campus. EH&S&S‘s friendly staff provides guidance, training, and support to all campus departments as needed. Our goal is to increase the environmental stewardship and safety awareness of all who thrive within the campus community.

Opioid Overdose Prevention Program
EH&S&S coordinates the campus Opioid Overdose Prevention Program.
Naloxone (Narcan) is available, free of charge, to campus employees and students by request. For emergency situations, naloxone is available in every campus AED cabinet and is carried by University Police Officers. If you suspect an opioid overdose, call University Police 716-673-3333 right away.
Anytime naloxone that was supplied by the campus is administered, whether on or off campus, an online anonymous form must be submitted. Alternatively to the online form, a pdf version may be printed and mailed to 704 Maytum Hall.
Harm Reduction Supplies
Effective 10/12/26 - Testing strips for Fentanyl, Xylazine, and Medetomidine are available free of charge in the Gregory Hall lobby 24/7.
