2011 Nearly 100 bags and boxes stocked with clothes, toys and non-perishable food items were rounded up Friday afternoon last week and dispatched to Rural Ministries and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Youth Organization for distribution to needy families.

The loading of bags onto waiting trucks by members of the men’s soccer team and student volunteers culminated the 12th annual Campus-wide Donation Drive sponsored by the Counseling Center, Residence Life, Volunteer and Community Services, Student Affairs, Custodial Services and Admissions.

More than 34 students, serving on behalf of the Jewish Student Union, Innovative Thinkers, Environmental Communication, Freshman Seminar Communication Disorders & Sciences, Delta Chi and STEPS, joined other students, staff members and community partners during the campaign.

The collection effort produced 51 bags of clothes and shoes for men, women and children, 23 boxes of canned goods and other food items, and 20 bags of toys that included board games, trains and dolls.
