SUNY Fredonia’s School of Music will be sponsoring a concert by the Air Force Band of Liberty’s New England Winds on Tuesday, Oct. 31 at 3 p.m. in Rosch Recital Hall.

The guest artists will also give a master class to student woodwind quintet ensembles at 4 p.m. which will be held in Rosch Recital Hall. Both events are free and open to the public.

Currently on tour from Hansom Air Force Base in Massachusetts, the New England Winds is a versatile ensemble that styles its program to its audience. Concerts span a wide range of genres including popular, Broadway, patriotic, jazz and folk music. Every performance displays the remarkable showmanship of these five talented musicians.

Members of the band are Amanda Dell, D.M.A. (clarinet), who has performed previously with the Florida Wind Symphony, the Florida Symphonic Pops, and the Cincinnati Klezmer Project; Avril Claytor (flute), who previously performed with the Great Falls Symphony Orchestra and the Chinook Winds Quintet; Craig Matta (horn), who has performed with the New England Philharmonic and the Cambridge Symphony, among others; Oboist Kate Nettles, M.M., who was named a 2002 Concerto Competition Winner at Ohio State University; and Chris Stahl (bassoon), who has also performed with the 553rd Air National Guard Band in Pennsylvania and the 531st Guard Band in Texas.
