Register now for fall open house: November 8
With the shutdown of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), the university is asking for help for students.
The Hunger Action Day Food Drive on Friday, Nov. 7, is seeking non-perishable food items to help those members of the Big Blue Family who are affected by the shutdown. Members of the SUNY Fredonia campus community are urged to participate.
Director of Student Health Debbie Dibble noted, “Every can, box, bag or cup could help someone who might not know where their next meal will come from.”
In conjunction with the food drive and with the coldest weather of the year around the corner, the Office of Residence Life is seeking Coats for College Kids. Gently used, clean garments are sought and will be added to the university’s Thrift Shop.
Donations for both efforts should be dropped off at the Help Hub, which is located in the Williams Center near the Freddy's Locker, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
