Graduate School Week activities to provide information and insight

Graduate School Fair on campus, Graduate programs

Graduate School Week, a series of workshops devoted to specific graduate school topics hosted by the offices of Career Development, Graduate Studies and several academic departments and student groups, will begin Oct. 24.

In addition, the Career Development Office will host its 14th Graduate School Fair on Tuesday, Oct. 25, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Williams Center Multipurpose Room.

SUNY Fredonia undergraduate students, alumni and community members are welcome to attend the fair and associated events to learn more about graduate schools, the available opportunities and the application process.

Graduate programs at SUNY Fredonia will be featured, with representatives from the College of Education, the School of Music, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and the Office of Graduate Studies. Additionally, more than 65 institutions will be represented, with graduate and professional programs in a variety of industries and disciplines including business, education, health/medicine, humanities and science.

Several presentations about graduate school topics to be held throughout the week include:

  • “All Things Graduate School: A Conversation with a Graduate Assistant and a CDO Counselor”  ̶  Monday, Oct. 24, 4 p.m., Williams Center Room S204DE, presented by the Career Development Office.
  • Health Professions Application Process  ̶  Tuesday, Oct. 25, 6 p.m., Williams Center 2nd floor  Leadership Classroom, presented by SUNY Upstate Medical University.
  • “Pathways to the Public Affairs Universe”  ̶  Tuesday, Oct. 25, 6 p.m., Williams Center Room S204E, presented by SUNY Albany Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy and SUNY Buffalo State Master of Public Administration and Nonprofit Management program (co-hosted by the Career Development Office, American Democracy Project, Fredonia Honors Program, Fredonia Student Association, Department of Communication, and Department of Politics and International Affairs).
  • “Careers in Student Affairs Panel” – Tuesday, Oct. 25, 6 p.m., Williams Center Room S204D, presented by SUNY Buffalo State Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration Program.
  • “Fredonia College of Education Open House” – Wednesday, Oct. 26, 4:30 p.m. (location TBA), presented by the Fredonia College of Education.
