Professor of Finance Moj Seyedian and Associate Professor of Marketing Shazad Mohammed had their business case study, "Small Business Valuation and the Decision to sell: The Case of a Growing Pizzeria," published in the March 2023 issue of Sage Business Cases.

Approximately 60 students enrolled in BUAD 342: Consumer Behavior and BUAD 445: Integrated Marketing Communications were involved in the design, administration and analysis of the survey used to collect information used in the case. Dr. Mohammed will use appropriate aspects of the study in his different marketing courses.

The objective of the case was to determine whether a pizza shop should be sold now or continue to be operated and sold at a later date for a potentially higher value. The case background introduces a small, privately owned restaurant operating in a relatively fixed market with several active competitors.

The case was designed to raise management issues of strategic decision making, market analysis, and company valuation.
