Duke professor, author, Fredonia graduate Dr. Mark Anthony Neal remembers his roots

ABOUT THE NURTURING INNOVATION CAMPAIGN Dr. Mark Anthony Neal’s résumé is quite impressive. He holds the rank of Professor of African and African American Studies at Duke University, is the founding director of the Center for Arts, Digital Culture and Entrepreneurship at Duke, an author of several books, a National Public Radio (NPR) commentator and activist.

ABOUT THE NURTURING INNOVATION CAMPAIGN As a Mathematics major at Fredonia in the early 1980s, Dianne (Carson) Craig kept a low-profile, but worked diligently to be successful in the classroom. Fredonia was a good fit for her. The Department of Mathematical Sciences has always been a close-knit group, and Diane thrived in its nurturing, non-competitive environment.
