Liam "Trot" Kelly (Buffalo, N.Y./Bishop Timon) delivered a pinch-hit single to cap a four-run rally in Game 1 in a 6-5 victory over New Paltz on Sunday. The Hawks claimed the nightcap, 12-10.
Fredonia ran its record to 10-2 overall and 3-1 in the SUNYAC with a 7-5 victory Saturday over the New Paltz Hawks. The win sets up a match-up of nationally ranked teams Tuesday at University Stadium, as No. 18 Geneseo travels to No. 20 Fredonia for a game that is likely to influence playoff seeding and bids to the NCAA tournament.
The 2015 Blue Devils equalled the best conference start in Fredonia softball history with a doubleheader sweep April 4 of the Plattsburgh Cardinals. This year's team improved to 6-0 in the conference -- and 9-8 overall -- with an 8-6 victory in the second game of the doubleheader. The Blue Devils also won the opener, 7-3.
Nicole Desens (Hopewell Junction, N.Y./Arlington) broke the Fredonia school record in the outdoor shot put on April 4, eclipsing the record held by her current coach Julia Williamson. Her throw of 13.20 meters bested current assistant coach Williamson's record of 12.94 meters set in 2009. It was also better than Desens's 13.01-meter throw a month ago that set Fredonia's indoor school record.
The Fredonia women's lacrosse team did enough to justify their national ranking on March 31, defeating Brockport on the road, 11-8. The team had not won against Brockport since the 2012 season.The Blue Devils moved up to No. 19 in the IWLCA Coaches poll on March 30.

All four Blue Devil divers competing in the championships earned either All-American or Honorable Mention All-American honors, capped off by two men's performances in the 3-meter springboard dive on Saturday.
