Campus plans to commemorate 9/11

Christine Davis Mantai

Norma Steuerle,  a family therapist,  loving mother and wife, and a dedicated volunteer with her church and community, was among those who perished Sept. 11, 2001,  on American Airlines Flight 77, when it crashed into the Pentagon. She was  on her way to Asia to meet her husband and daughter.

Five years after the campus shuddered to a halt as it absorbed news of the mortal attacks by terrorists on U.S. soil, students, faculty and staff are coming together to reflect on the consequences of September 11, 2001. The day's events of Monday, Sept. 11, are built around the work of keynote speaker Kristin Steuerle Swanson, M.D., daughter of a Flight 77 victim. She founded the organization, "Our Voices Together: Building a Safer, More Compassionate World."   Dr. Steuerle Swanson will give her address during a luncheon in the Williams Center.
