Assistant Professor of English Dustin Parsons has been awarded a residency for the 2013 Winter/Spring session at the Brush Creek Foundation for the Arts colony in outside Saratoga, Wyoming.

The Foundation offers time and space for artistic exploration through immersion in the extraordinary beauty of the West. Located on 15,000 acres at the base of the Medicine Bow National Forest, the camp is situated next to Brush Creek, between the Sierra Madre and Snowy Mountain ranges.

In addition to the residency, Parsons's poetry manuscript, The Wooden Son, was just announced as a semi-finalist for the Crab Orchard Review First Book Award. Crab Orchard's Series in Poetry is published by Southern Illinois University Press annually. Previous winners include Chad Davidson and Joelle Biele.
