Economist Sheng to speak at semester's first Social Science Colloquium

The SUNY Fredonia College of Natural and Social Sciences is holding the first Social Science Colloquium of the 2009-10 academic year on Monday, Oct. 12 with featured speaker Xuguang "Simon" Sheng, assistant professor of economics.

Dr. Sheng’s presentation is titled, “Understanding Economic Forecasts of Individual Members of the Federal Open Market Committee.”

The event will be held at noon in W380 Thompson Hall. The colloquium is free and open to all faculty, staff and students. Pizza and beverages will be provided by the Dean of the College of Natural and Social Sciences, the event sponsor.

SUNY Fredonia’s College of Natural and Social Sciences is comprised of several departments including biology, business, biochemistry, chemistry, computer and information science, economics, geosciences, mathematics, physics, political science, psychology, sociology, social work, speech pathology and audiology, sports management and exercise science.
