Get ready for annual Campus-Wide Donation Drive

Christine Davis Mantai
On Friday, Dec. 7, volunteers will sweep the SUNY Fredonia campus collecting donations for the annual effort to benefit the local agencies of the Holiday Caregivers Coalition.

Items sought are non-perishable food items, new or old toys, and new or old (gently used) clothing.  All items collected will be donated to local agencies of the Holiday Caregivers Coalition (United Way, The Salvation Army and Rural Ministries).

Faculty and staff are asked to put donations outside their office doors by noon on Friday, Dec. 7, and volunteers will stop by and pick them up. Residential students are asked to put donations in the lobby of their building in the box labeled, “Campus-wide Donation Drive” by 10 a.m. that day. Donations can also be brought to Williams Center Room G-144 between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.

The organizing group is looking for campus volunteers to help pick up, sort and package donations. Persons willing to do so are asked to contact the Counseling Center at 716-673-3424.  Contact Stephanie Wares (Counseling Center) for more information.

The donation drive is co-sponsored by the SUNY Fredonia Counseling Center, the Learning Center, Volunteer Services, Residence Life and Student Affairs. The Holiday Caregivers Coalition includes the United Way, the Salvation Army and Chautauqua County Rural Ministry.
