Gigantic Booksale by Literacy Volunteers

Christine Davis Mantai

The annual "gigantic" booksale sponsored as a fundraiser for the Literacy Volunteers will be held on campus Thursday, Feb. 7 in the Williams Center ground floor from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

According to volunteer Dr. Minda Rae Amiran (English, Emeritus), "This year we will be offering many books from the collections of retired professors, including classics in theatre, political science, sociology, literature, and more." SUNY Fredonia faculty as well as students are urged to come browse.

All proceeds go to fund the activities of Literacy Volunteers, which offers free, one-on-one tutoring in basic English and English as a second language to adults throughout Chautauqua County. The organization also helps prepare candidates for the GED and other gateway examinations.
