Golden Key Honour Society will induct 100 scholars

Golden Key Int'l Honour Society sealAn estimated 100 students, four faculty, and one professional staff member will be inducted into the SUNY Fredonia chapter of the Golden Key International Honour Society at a ceremony on Sunday, Nov. 2, at 2 p.m., in McEwen Hall Room 209. The induction ceremony will include full academic procession.

Established at SUNY Fredonia in 2005 (see Campus Report article), Golden Key is a premiere honor society in which membership is gained by invitation only and is extended to the top 15 percent of junior and senior students. The president is Emily Lonski, a senior from Kenmore, N.Y., majoring in Speech and Language Disabilities. Communication Professor Ann Carden is the advisor.

The employees being inducted will become Honorary Members. They are David M. Rankin, political science professor; H. Joseph Straight, mathematical sciences professor; Vanessa May McKinney, psychology professor; Jeffrey Walter, catering manager at FSA; and David W. Ewing, dean for the College of Natural and Social Sciences.

Marrazzo conducts master classes

School of Music Assistant Professor Don Marrazzo gave a master class at Houghton University and also did a two-day residency at Detroit Opera to work with members of the Resident Artist Program.
