James Swierk, custodian
SUNY Fredonia was saddened to learn of the unexpected death of 20-year employee James A. Swierk, 56, of Dunkirk. Mr. Swierk was a Janitor in Rockefeller Arts Center and most recently in Reed Library. He was the father of Joe and Tony Swierk.
Friends may call at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home, Inc., 56 East Doughty Street in Dunkirk on Tuesday evening, October 25, from 7-9 p.m. A memorial service will be held the same evening at the funeral home at 8:30 p.m.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Swierk Children's Fund, c/o Lake Shore Savings and Loan, 128 E. Fourth Street, Dunkirk.
As an expression of sorrow, SUNY Fredonia will fly its flags at half-staff on Tuesday.
