The Criminal Justice Student Club at SUNY Fredonia is hosting a lecture series, “Crime in Our Community,” to bring local representatives from the criminal justice system to the campus to coincide with March as National Criminal Justice Month.

Capt. Patrick Johnson, warden of the Chautauqua County Jail, will present “This Place is Crazy: Mental Health Problems in County Jails” on Monday, March 26, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., at W101 Thompson.  The lecture series began March 8 with Joseph Gerace, Chautauqua County Sheriff, speaking about crime in Chautauqua County.

March was established as National Criminal Justice Month by Congress in 2009.
