Nefin Dinc, documentary filmmaker and professor of communications, will be attending the International Cannes Film Festival to distribute DVDs from the Youth Filmmaking Project in Turkey, and to distribute the trailer and flyer of her newest documentary, "The Other Town."

The internationally-known festival runs from May 13 to 23.

The Youth Filmmaking Project in Turkey resulted in 18 films by Turkish students, nine of which are documentaries and nine of which are fiction. Professor Dinc is making a documentary about the project, and will be distributing flyers and a trailer for the documentary as well. The working title of that film is "Through My Lens."

"The Other Town” is about Turkish-Greek relationships. Professor Dinc has finished the rough cut of the film and is now looking for European co-producers, she said. "The subject matter is the roots and causes of prejudices between Turks and Greeks," she explained. "We filmed the national and religious holidays in Greece and Turkey for more than a year."
