A panel discussion on the paperless university  will be held Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. in McEwen G26. "The Paperless University: Myth or Reality?" will focus on the effect changing technologies are having on the traditional landscape of higher education.

The panel will be asked to reflect on how academic research and publishing is being revolutionized by innovative projects such as open access academic publications, E-books, and Google’s library project, which aims to digitize books from some of our country’s most prestigious research libraries.

Panelists are Educational Technologist Janet Mayer (Reed Library); Professor Michael Jabot (College of Education); and Distinguished Teaching Professor Ted Steinberg (English). Professor Joseph Chilberg (communication), will moderate.

The panel, a part of the Convocation Series, "Origins," was coordinated by Dawn Eckenrode, Kerrie Fergen Wilkes, and Darryl Coleman, of the Reed Library staff. For more information contact  Kerrie Fergen Wilkes
