Dr. Saundra Liggins of the English Department has been named Interim Affirmative Action Director, starting January 3. Her office is in the President’s Office complex, and she will be devoting 20 hours per week to the position.

Dr. Liggins joined the SUNY Fredonia English Department faculty in 2000, and holds the rank of Associate Professor. Her teaching and research interests include African-American literature, minority literatures of the United States, women’s literature, gothic literature, cultural studies, and American studies.

She has provided service to her department and to the university in a number of different capacities, including currently serving as a member of our University Senate’s Executive Committee.Dr. Liggins received her B.A. in Literature/Writing from U.C. San Diego, M.A. in Literature from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, and C.Phil. in Literature and Ph.D. in English and American Literature from U.C. San Diego.
