The School of Music announces October concert highlights

Wind Quintet
The Fredonia Wind Quintet will perform in Rosch Recital Hall on October 9 at 8 p.m.

The SUNY Fredonia School of Music presents an active schedule of ensemble concerts, faculty recitals and guest artists in the month of October. For a complete list of upcoming events, please visit www.fredonia.edu/music.

All events are free and open to the public, unless otherwise indicated.

Rosch Recital Hall is home to all faculty and guest artist recitals in October, including performances by saxophone professor Wildy Zumwalt on Friday, October 5 at 8 p.m.; the faculty ensemble ANA featuring soprano Angela Haas, cellist Natasha Farny and pianist Anne Kissel on Saturday, October 6 at 4 p.m.; guest clarinetist Andrea Cheeseman on Monday, October 8 at 8 p.m.; the faculty ensemble Fredonia Wind Quintet featuring Susan Royal (flute), Sarah Hamilton (oboe), Laura Koepke (bassoon), Andrew Seigel (clarinet), and Marc Guy (horn) on Tuesday, October 9 at 8 p.m.; viola professor David Rose on Tuesday, October 16 at 8 p.m., and guest classical guitarist Criag Einhorn on Friday, October 19 at 8 p.m., presented with support from the Fredonia Guitar Society.

Student ensemble performances in October include Concert Band under the direction of John Maguda on October 3 at 8 pm in King performing band music by Clifton Williams, Felix Mendelssohn, John Barnes Chance and more; the 87-member All College Band under the direction of Carl Mazzio on October 4 at 8 pm in King featuring works by Gershwin, Husa, Whitacre, Van de Roost, and Chance; the College Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Dr. David Rudge on October 6 at 8 pm; a Choral Showcase on October 27 at 4 pm in Rosch, and the Curricular Jazz Ensemble on October 31 at 8 pm in Rosch.

Marrazzo conducts master classes
