Schwalbe and Dinc collaborate with American-Turkish Assn. to screen films

Communication Department faculty Nefin Dinc and Ted Schwalbe continue working on their Department of State grant “Youth Filmmaking in Turkey.” The 18 films produced by the Turkish project students have been screened in a number of locations. On October 27th and 28th, the films were screened at the World Bank in Washington DC through the help of the local American-Turkish Association. In attendance were representatives of the U.S. State Department.

Another screening was held November 20 at the Tisch Center at New York University. The packed audience included representatives of the Turkish Consulate to the United Nations. On November 23rd and 24th the films were screened at Bogazici University in Istanbul.

On December 6 they will be screened at Boston University. In addition to showing the films, Schwalbe and Dinc answered questions from the audience about the films and the overall project. The project will conclude next January when all 72 Turkish project students, as well as 7 Fredonia students, meet in Ankara.
