Sixth Slush Rush slated for Sunday

The Sixth 5K Slush Rush is slated for Sunday, March 2, beginning at Dods Hall. Race Day Registration and Race Day Check-in is from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. at the Dods Hall gymnasium.

The Race Start Time is 9 a.m., and the post-race party and awards will begin immediately after the last runner finishes.

Cost is $20/person, with Mastercard and Visa debit and credit cards accepted. SUNY Fredonia Fred Funds will be accepted for registration at the SUNY Fredonia Ticket Office.

Registration includes refreshments, a raffle ticket, t-shirts to the first 200 registrants and medals to top two runners in each age category.

Proceeds from the Slush Rush will be donated to the Xylia Peterson '85 Memorial Fund in the Fredonia College Foundation. Mrs. Peterson, an international student from Sri Lanka, graduated from SUNY Fredonia with a degree in Business Administration. She is fondly remembered by her former coworkers and friends in the community for her outgoing personality and smile.

The Xylia Peterson ’85 Memorial Fund was established in Mrs. Peterson’s memory to provide international education scholarships to full-time junior and senior international students at Fredonia. Donations to the fund are tax deductible. The event is hosted by the International Education Center and Race Coordinators are Ashley Enekes, Pilar Nelson, Katrina Hamilton-Kaft and Mary Sasso.
