New videos of the preparation of fight scenes in Romeo and Juliet, the final Mainstage production of 2009 which opens this Friday, have recently been posted on "TaDa! Fredonia Theatre and Dance" blog.

From "TaDa!"

The play has three major fight sequences as well as one minor one. It has the most fights of any Shakespearean tragedy. The show begins with a major brawl, then Mercutio and Tybalt square off. Lord Capulet has a scene in which he gets rough with Juliet, and then at the end Romeo and Paris have a final duel.

Excerpts include a rehearsal in which fight choreographer Prof. Ted Sharon refines a section of the Mercutio/Tybalt sequence, followed by a practice run of the entire fight.
