Student and faculty panelists discuss impact of study abroad

Both the Modern Language and Political Science departments invite all SUNY Fredonia students, faculty, and staff to a free event, discussing the positive impact studying abroad brings not only to students but to faculty members as well. The event will take place Monday, Feb. 18 from 3 to 6 p.m. in Reed Library, next to the Japanese garden.
Students will have a chance to share with the audience about how studying abroad changed his/her life and the impact on his/her future as a global citizen.
Faculty members speaking at the event include Chiara De Santi (Modern Language); who will talk introduce students who have benefited from study abroad in different countries. Carmen Rivera (Modern Language) will discuss study abroad in Mexico. Emily Ivey (Visual Arts/New Media) will discuss study abroad in Italy during May term. Alex Caviedes (Political Science) will discuss the SUNY Model European Union experience. Robert Dahlgren (Curriculum and Instruction) will discuss leading groups of pre-service teachers on service learning trips to Belize.
A reception will follow the faculty and student panel. This will give a chance for the audience to ask questions, continuing the discussion with the presenters.
