Students invited to apply for Phonathon jobs

The Fredonia College Foundation will be hiring students to staff its annual fundraising appeal by making calls to potential donors this fall and spring.

The Phonathon callers are expected to work two or three nights a week between Sunday through Thursday evenings during the months of October, November, February, March, and April.

The PHONATHON for Fredonia is held twice during the academic year (October – November and February – April) and is part of SUNY Fredonia’s fund-raising efforts. Coordinated through the Fredonia College Foundation, the Phonathon for Fredonia hires student callers to contact alumni and parents on behalf of the Fredonia College Foundation to raise money for scholarship and other important academic and non-academic programs.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

The essential qualities sought are: ENERGY, ENTHUSIASM for Fredonia and a POSITIVE attitude. This is not a difficult job but does take someone who has good communications skills, is not afraid of talking on the telephone, uses proper English, and has the ability to converse with all types of people.

Note: SUNY Fredonia has recently installed an automated call center telemarketing application, Campus Call. Therefore, basic computer literacy is a prerequisite for this job and attendance at training sessions is required.

HOURS:

Calling takes place Sunday through Thursday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. for each Fall/Spring Phonathon period. Callers are not expected to work every night – usually two or three nights per week. Scheduling is flexible. The Call Center is located conveniently in Thompson Hall!

HOURLY WAGE:

The minimum pay rate is $7.25 per hour.
