Support group meetings scheduled for stroke and head injury survivors and families

Lisa Eikenburg

The Henry C. Youngerman Center for Communication Disorders at SUNY Fredonia will be offering support group meetings for stroke and head injury survivors and family members. The group will meet the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 3 p.m. in Thompson Hall Room E148.

A typical group meeting will include activities to help stroke and head injury survivors use compensatory strategies to improve communication skills, provide educational information and an opportunity to socialize and share experiences. Light refreshments will be provided.

The Youngerman Center recognizes that there are individuals in the community whose insurance benefit for therapy has been exhausted but their hopes for improvement have not. Please contact Julie Williams, coordinator, at 716-673-4618 for more information about attending the group. Meeting dates: Feb. 18, March 4, March 25, April 1, April 15 and May 6.
