This semester Orchesis Dance Company is bringing in the premiere tap ensemble, “Tapaholics,” for master classes and a concert this month. Based in New York City, the group was founded  by Michael Minery, described by Critical Dance magazine as “a shuffling Justin Timberlake.”

The "Tapaholics" concert is Saturday, Sept. 30, at 8 p.m. in Marvel Theatre.

The group is known for “infusing old time tap with fresh and powerful youthfulness.” Its stunning a capella numbers share the spotlight with music ranging from jazz to disco, rock to pop, and classical to gospel, along with original compositions by Mr. Minery.

“It’ll be an amazing show,” said Janie Villella (senior acting major from Warren, PA), vice president of Orchesis.
