Todd Proffitt, associate professor of the Department Theatre and Dance and Director of Theatrical Production and Design Program, did the lighting design for the production, “James in the Giant Peach,” presented at the Theatre of Youth at the Allendale Theatre in Buffalo.

The show ran from January 25 to February 10.  Proffitt was commended in a review for aesthetically capturing the production by bringing light to the dark and strange storyline of Roald Dahl’s children’s chronicle, “James and the Giant Peach,” written in 1961.

Proffitt’s lighting design highlighted an eye-catching set of see-through scrims, sea creatures on walls, colorful and detailed insects, and an enormous moving peach, which was designed by Kenneth Shaw.
