Veterans honor roll published on college website

Flag ceremony on campusSUNY Fredonia has launched a Veterans Honor Roll on its website. The names of U.S. veterans are placed on the list by donors to the new Veterans Scholarship Fund, which has been created by the Fredonia College Foundation and the Veterans Affairs Office.

The SUNY Fredonia Veterans Scholarship Fund will provide scholarships to students who receive veterans-related entitlements. The fund has already raised enough money to provide a scholarship to a SUNY Fredonia student this fall, but its goal is to endow the fund at the $10,000 level to guarantee at least one scholarship per year on a continuing basis.

With each gift of $50 to the SUNY Fredonia Veterans Scholarship Fund, donors submit the name and tour of service of one U.S. veteran to be placed on the SUNY Fredonia Veterans Honor Roll. So far, donors have contributed more than $1,000 and nine names are listed on the Honor Roll.

To make a gift to the fund, contact June Miller-Spann, associate director of development.
