Visiting Writers Series hosts alumna Christina Olson April 5

The Visiting Writers Series of the Department of English at SUNY Fredonia is hosting a visit on Thursday, April 5, by alumna Christina Olson, ‘03, to speak to writers, English majors and minors, faculty and staff, and all those interested in creative writing.

Ms. Olson will present a craft talk at 4 p.m. in McEwen Hall Room 202 that will consist of writing prompts and ideas to help aspiring writers with their work. She will also present a reading of her work at 7 p.m., also in McEwen 202. The event is free and the public is invited to attend.
 
Ms. Olson was a student of English Associate Professor Aimee Nezhukumatathil in her Intermediate Creative Writing class. After graduating from Fredonia, Ms. Olson received her Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing from Minnesota State University. She currently teaches writing and technical communication at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Ga.
 
The Visiting Writers Series is sponsored by the English department, the Mary Louise White Fund of the Fredonia College Foundation, and Upper Crust Bakery.
