Wind Symphony concert set for Nov. 13

Christine Davis Mantai

SUNY Fredonia School of Music presents a Wind Symphony Concert on Thursday, Nov. 13, at 8 p.m. in King Concert Hall. Directed by Carl Mazzio, with assistant conductor Samuel Newsome, the concert is free and open to the public.   To be performed will be works by Frank Tichello, Richard Strauss, Malcolm Arnold, Brian Balmages, Gorb, and Daugherty.

Membership in this ensemble is by audition only. While a large percentage of students are music majors, a number of very talented non-music majors have achieved membership. Repertoire is drawn from a variety of styles and musical periods, carefully chosen in order to stimulate a high degree of musical growth for each member.
