Women, Rock & Soul to be held Dec. 8

Christine Davis Mantai

The Women’s Student Union and the Women’s Studies Program at SUNY Fredonia have teamed up again this year to host the 12th “Women, Rock & Soul,” event, which will be held on Saturday, Dec. 8, at 10 p.m. at Ellicottville Brewing Company in Fredonia.

The event is a celebration with two goals: to support scholarly pursuit of women’s studies by raising money for the Jeanette McVicker Women’s Studies Scholarship, and to promote the creation of women-affirming spaces in downtown Fredonia venues.

Throughout the evening there will be live music, including performances by current students and alumni of SUNY Fredonia, and there will be a silent auction with over $700 worth of great prizes! For more information, interested persons should contact Sarah Schwab, Women’s Studies graduate assistant, or Alyssa Brooke-Gay, Women’s Student Union president.
